Postcards to Myself - Cairns, Australia, 1988
We are now in Cains, where we visited one of the oldest rainforests in the world and learned all about the Aboriginal culture. I got a handmade and hand painted boomerang from them and they showed me how to throw it. Yesterday, we took the Quicksilver boat out to the Great Barrier Reef and went snorkeling. So much fun! I saw lots of colorful fish and giant clams and if you touch their mouth they open a little, but you must be careful not to get your hand cought in them. There are White Tipped Reef Sharks too, but they are harmless. I love sharks! Dad got very sea sick.
