Postcards to Myself - Tailand, 1985
We are now in Tailand. First we stayed in Bankok right on the banks of the Chao Phya, the River of Kings. One day we took a boat down the river to see the floating market, where they sell all kinds of food. We also visited The Grand Palace and lots of temples. Everything was in gold! There I took one of my favorite photos! We even saw the Giant Golden Reclining Buddha. After some days, we flew south to an island called Phuket. One of the most beautiful islands I’ve ever seen! Our hotel is surrounded by palm trees and every morning we watch monkeys climb the trees to takedown the coconuts. During our stay we visited James Bond Island from the movie ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’, a cave with lots of bats and we had lunch on a floating gypsy village, but mom got sick from the food.
