Postcards to Myself - Taroko Gorge, Taiwan, 1985
We went on a trip with my best friend Joyce and her family to the middle of Taiwan to visit Taroko Gorge, which is a mountain entirly of marble and it’s considered one of the Wonders of the World. We drove up to 3000 meters, close to high cliffs. The road was so narrow that when a car came infront of us, we had to back up and I thought we were going to drive right off the cliff and die! Yesterday was my 11th birthday and everyone forgot, just like in the movie ‘16 Candles’! I waited all day for someone to say something. So in the evening I told mom. We stayed at this hotel. At dinner they surprised me with cake!
